We think that the Church should be the greatest example of God’s love, light, kindness, and excellence in any community. The Church is a people in a people to change a people. That simply means we are a group of people chosen by God to live in the world and make a difference for His glory.  Our mission is to bring people into a relationship with Jesus, help them discover who God says that they are, and equip them to live meaningful lives that bring others to Jesus.

We believe there is one God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God created mankind to have fellowship with Him, but because sin entered the world, that fellowship was broken. To restore a relationship with Him, the Father sent his Son, Jesus, to live a sinless life as a man on earth in order for Jesus to die as a worthy substitute for the penalty of sin. Through the power of God, Jesus rose from the dead and now sits on a throne in heaven as King. In His death and resurrection, eternal salvation was purchased for mankind—it is only through God’s grace that we are saved. With a relationship with God restored, those who have turned to Jesus and trusted His finished work have received the Holy Spirit to drive the transformation of becoming more like Jesus, and as a result, attract non-believers to God. It is our purpose on earth to represent God and share this message of forgiveness and restoration through Him.

In 2003, a group of twelve people began to meet in the NeSmith living room with a vision to change the community of Barefoot Resort in North Myrtle Beach, SC. After a couple years of traction and growth, Barefoot Church was launched in 2005. We began streaming our services online in 2009, followed by the opening of a second campus in Whiteville, NC in 2010. In 2012, we secured 60 acres of property across the waterway in North Myrtle Beach for future expansion. In that same year, we began operating The Conference Center at Barefoot Resort. In 2013, we began partnering with Children’s Cup to establish a campus in Malindza, Swaziland. In 2016, we launched the Living Life 363 ministry that serves as a vehicle to do outreach through every day of the year.

At Barefoot Church we believe you should live you, the God-given you, because you are worth living.

You are totally accepted by God, right where you are. There is no need to worry about what you did yesterday, or to prove yourself to Him. He created you, He knows you, and He has a one-of-a-kind purpose for your life. Grace is His gift to us, and there is nothing we can do to change that.

Live younique.

Recognize that you, yes even you, have something to offer. No one has an excuse. There are God-given gifts in each of us to be used for a purpose in this world. There is nothing insignificant about you and nothing less than amazing about what God wants to do in and through you.

Live youseful.

We set ourselves up for failure when we attempt to live life outside of a relationship with Christ and others. So we make no apology that, when you’re banded with this community, you’ll be challenged to never accept ordinary and always be more than just a spectator in this life. God desires us to be a generous people, using our time, energy and resources to make a difference in this world.

Live younited.

Be sure to stop by the first time guest area on campus to receive a gift we have for you. We simply ask that you fill out one of our guest information cards so that we can get to know you and better serve your family.

When you build your life on Christ and align it with Him, you can live you, the God-given you.

In 2015, Pastor Clay asked God to show him the Church that He would have him to lead. The characteristics, values, and goals revealed at that time have helped define who we are and what we do in this season of ministry.

I see a church where everyone matters. I see a church where the light of Jesus is
reflected. I see a church where purpose is revealed. I see a church where God’s Kingdom dominates. I see a church that starts small but grows into something magnificent. I see a church that changes culture. I see a church that operates 24/7. I see a church where excellence is displayed. I see a church that is alive. I see a church that works together for God’s greatness. I see a church where kids develop into leaders and masterpieces. I see a church that attempts the different to reach all people. I see a church that is full of God’s kindness and hospitality. I see a church that rises to the top in the community. I see a church that builds on the work that Jesus has already done. I see a church where many dead stones become living stones to do something great. I see a church that the community revolves around. I see a church that encourages and speaks into the lives of all who pass through. I see a church that serves with heart. I see a church that walks with the Spirit and steps into opportunity. I see a church that represents a King. I see a church that shows people they are designed with a purpose. I see a church that functions like a Kingdom. I see a church that brings hope and healing to what it touches. I see a church where all people have a function and a purpose.
