Changing The World

Missions are the purpose of the church

And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-12)

Missions are both local and international

... you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.' (Acts 1:7-9)

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, 'All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you ...' (Matthew 28:18-20)

Association of Related Churches (ARC)

In the fall of 2000, a vision was born. After thirty years planting churches and observing both successful and unsuccessful ministries, Billy Hornsby was saddened by the tragic statistics of most new church plants. When he discovered that more than eighty percent of new churches failed within the first five years and that many of the new church planters that began with excitement and vision abandoned ministry along with their churches, he knew something had to change. Therefore, the ARC was created to provide an environment of encouragement and coaching that included close mentoring relationships and financial resources for new church planters.

Now, nine years later, the ARC has planted almost 200 life-giving local churches in America in 36 states. Over 200 churches have teamed up with the ARC to share resources, develop lifelong ministry relationships and help plant more churches, and that number is growing. The ARC has become a powerful resource for local pastors wanting to break inertia and get new ideas as well as new pastors wanting to get the best strategies for planting their churches.

Crossover

Crossover's vision is to assist and accelerate church planting movements among the people groups of Eurasia. In 1995, only six evangelical missionaries were known to be in the country of Moldova, the small country between Romania and the Ukraine. Crossover began the first phase of fulfilling its vision with Mission Moldova. Their goal was to plant five churches by 2000. When they planted six, they knew Crossover needed to expand its vision.

That led to Mission Black Sea in 2000, a plan for 100 new churches established in the people groups of the seven Eurasian countries surrounding the Black Sea: Moldova, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Romania, Russia, Georgia, and Turkey. In 2003, Crossover sent long-term, cross-cultural workers to their second targeted people group within the least-reached country on the Black Sea. More missionaries, both American and Brazilian, followed. By the end of 2004, Crossover had started over 20 new churches. As the Lord provides the people and resources, we hope to see the remaining churches of Mission Black Sea established.
